About the role
We are entering an exciting period of change within the Facilities, Fleet & Depot Stores department, as we continue to develop to meet the strategic and operational needs of our growing municipality. This transformation is about people, purpose, and progress, and we are recruiting a diverse range of roles to the department—building a team that is passionate about service excellence, operational uplift, and meaningful change.
We’re looking for individuals who are not only skilled in their field, but who thrive in collaborative environments and are motivated by the opportunity to make a real and positive impact.
Wyndham City Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader Building Services Support (Business Support) to lead a small team of two Business Support Officers in delivering efficient, high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
This key leadership role sits within the Building Maintenance Support unit, responsible for the triage and coordination of all incoming service requests, work orders, and general enquiries. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring professional standards, accurate workflows, and clear communication across departments, all while supporting Wyndham’s vision for customer-first service and operational excellence.
This is a full-time permanent leadership position that will be required to work reasonable overtime, and an equitable number of public holidays. This role may be required to work across multiple locations and travel within the Wyndham Municipality to undertake Council business, as required.
What your day will look like
· Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of Business Support Officers to deliver prompt, professional, and customer-focused service with strong KPIs of customer satisfaction
· Overseeing the triage and routing of service requests and work orders, ensuring accurate logging and appropriate assignment using TechnologyOne and other systems
· Collaborating daily with teams across Facilities Maintenance and Construction and Development Services to ensure timely responses and smooth operational coordination
· Monitoring team performance against service standards such as response times, data accuracy, and customer satisfaction, and providing clear reports to support internal visibility and decision-making of senior management
· Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance workflows, reduce unnecessary call-outs, and strengthen service responsiveness
· Ensuring compliance with Council policies and standards related to customer service, data privacy, and work order management
· Championing effective communication between internal customers, service units, and the Business Support team to ensure a seamless and responsive support environment
What you will bring
· Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Customer Service, Facilities Management, or a related field, and substantial relevant experience in the field or similar setting.
· Experience in supervising a small team and delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment.
· Demonstrated understanding of privacy, data integrity, and customer service obligations. Familiarity with local government customer service standard and operational environments is desirable.
· High-level written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency in using TechnologyOne and Microsoft Office suite.
· A Working with Children Check is required.
· A Victorian Driver’s Licence
If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
