Remuneration: Band 5 salary from $86,136.96 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO

Location: Werribee based

 

 

About the role

This newly created, 2-year fixed term position will help facilitate the implementation of drainage infrastructure ensuring compliance with Council standards while also contributing to the efficient and timely delivery of integrated water and stormwater management projects.

In this role, you will support the development and execution of strategies, policies, and programs that advance sustainable water and drainage management.

 

Ideally, you will join us with relevant work experience in civil engineering practices and drainage design alongside your degree in Civil Engineering.




What your day will look like

               Undertaking detailed checking of drainage plans to ensure compliance with planning permit conditions, Council standards and specifications

               Liaising with consultants and planners, as required

               Determining the likelihood of inundation and providing stormwater management advice

               Liaising with developers and consultants and providing advice on engineering matters relating to drainage and integrated water management

               Assisting with the investigation and resolution of technical stormwater design issues

               Assessing the impact of development proposals on Council’s infrastructure asset networks

 

 

What you will bring

               Degree in Civil Engineering

               A current driver’s license

               Knowledge of stormwater management and Integrated Water Management principles

               Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills to assess drainage and stormwater management issues, interpret technical data, and develop practical, innovative solutions within relevant guidelines and standards

               Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets, while maintaining quality outcomes

               Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and provide clear advice to developers, consultants, internal teams, and the community

               Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and apply new software relevant to engineering and drainage management
