About the role

As the Coordinator Building Maintenance Support, you will lead core support functions underpinning the performance and delivery of the Facilities, Fleet and Depot Stores Department, within the City Operations Directorate. The Building Maintenance Support unit includes Building Services Support, Building Maintenance Contract Management and Building Maintenance Planning.
Your focus will be on driving continuous improvement, enhancing financial and asset sustainability, and building organisational capability. You will work closely with internal departments and external stakeholders, providing strategic and operational leadership across a range of integrated services that enable high-performing infrastructure and service delivery.
You will foster a collaborative team culture while also developing and maintaining strong governance practices and insights that influence service delivery decisions. The role is based in Werribee, with flexibility for hybrid work and travel across Wyndham City sites.
What your day will look like
Leading and managing Building Maintenance Support, Contract Management, and Facilities Planning teams
Driving improvements in contract performance, work order triage, financial processes, and service workflows
Supporting the development of clear processes and tools to improve team performance and customer responsiveness
Overseeing governance and risk controls across contract management, procurement, and maintenance reporting
Guiding the development of asset data insights and lifecycle planning through facilities planning functions
Coaching and supporting team leaders and officers to deliver consistent, high-quality services
Providing operational briefings, insights, and strategic recommendations to the Manager and senior stakeholders
Supporting continuous improvement and team development aligned to broader departmental change
What you will bringTertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Procurement or related field, with over 10 years of relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in operational leadership within service delivery or infrastructure environments
Demonstrated capability in contract governance, procurement compliance, and asset planning, with the ability to guide, support, and critically evaluate contract performance and risk at a departmental level
High proficiency with TechnologyOne and Microsoft Office Suite, including experience using work order and contract management platforms
Experience working with financial systems and reporting to support strong cost control and resourcing decisions
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to guide conversations, build trust, and resolve issues collaboratively
A considered and composed leadership style that supports accountability, development, and change
Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams through change and driving improvements in how services are delivered
